About

Howl Coyote Howl is a captivating Modern Spaghetti Western that takes audiences on a compelling journey of human perseverance through the rugged deserts California and what it means to cross the border into Mexico using unconventional methods. The story follows Anna, a veteran of the War in Afghanistan and an escapee of an abusive relationship and her confidant, Gloria, an ill prepared God-fearing friend, helping her to escape her former abuser. After a bloody exchange with some bounty hunters, Anna and Gloria team up with Mr. Walcott and Marty, a pair of coyotes to escape into Mexico. Things continually go awry as they traverse the desert, bounty hunters, and injuries. Our project distinguishes itself through its incredible cast of Talia Martin, Gabriela Fernandez, Francis Llyod Corby, Dylan T. Sherman, and Aaron Cavette and their commitment to presenting a nuanced portrayal of the characters and their journeys.

From the Director

Dylan T. Sherman

“I wanted to bring Westerns into modern times by honoring and breaking the tropes of the genre. Telling this story of a woman on the run from an ex-partner is the perfect way to show what a Western is capable of. I wanted people to enjoy themselves as they watch a story of human perseverance. The style of the spaghetti western genre is often an homage but is rarely utilized the way it was originally intended by filmmakers like Sergio Leone and Sergio Sollima, as a harsh look at American life and the rejection of fascist ideals and the power of the individual.”
